Maltese sprinter Beppe Grillo is looking forward to the Paris 2024 Olympic challenge and is raring to go to Paris. He is quietly confident about his prospects to reach a first ever semi final in the 100m event.
“It’s hard to say if I’m excited or not but participating on the biggest stage of all means that this is also a huge responsibility for me representing Malta’
Beppe Grillo said that since achieving the time which enabled him to go through to the Olympics automatically, he had been training to hard to keep up that standard.
Asked if he was confident of going through the preliminary rounds of the 100m, Grillo was circumspect but quietly confident about his prospects.
“With a bit more research, we found out that to reach the first round, a time of 10.6 is needed so that would be quite easy to achieve. To reach a semi final, the hardest time is 10.2 seconds so with a bit of luck, I might even make it to the semi finals”.
Beppe Grillo will be action for Malta in the Qualifying Round of the 100m on August 3.
