American boxers Floyd Mayweather and John Gotti III went head-to-head on Friday (23rd August) in anticipation of their exhibition rematch on Saturday.
Mayweather weighed in at 72.9 kilos (160.3 pounds), significantly lighter than Gotti III, who registered 83.3 kilos (181 pounds) at the weigh-in ceremony held in Mexico City’s Arena CDMX, where the fight will occur.
The two fighters initially clashed in June 2023, resulting in a brawl between their respective teams after the referee called off the match.
Gotti III, who ventured into mixed martial arts in 2017 before transitioning to professional boxing three years later, has a record of only two victories by knockout.
