Spanish motorcyclist Carles Falcon suffered severe injuries in a crash during the second stage of the Dakar Rally in the Saudi Arabian desert. He injured his head in the fall and was airlifted to the nearest hospital in critical condition.
According to Spanish reports, medical professionals revived the rider in the desert, successfully resuscitating him. As reported by the hospital, Falcon is in intensive care, and his condition is stable.
“15 kilometers from the finish, Falcon fell and hit his head forcefully on the ground. When the paramedics arrived, he had no pulse. We still don’t know whether he has head injuries only from the impact or if the accident occurred because he had a stroke,” said David Castera, the director of the Rally.
