The esteemed Maltese international referee, Massimo Angileri, was selected to officiate the Euro Cup Qualification matches held in Kranj, Slovenia from 27th to 29th September 2024.
This tournament featured four prominent teams: Kranj from Slovenia, PAOK from Greece, OS Duisburg from Germany, and Ortigia Siracusa from Italy. The event lasted for three days and was filled with intense competition as the teams fought for a spot in the prestigious Euro Cup.
Mr. Angileri’s vast experience and impartial officiating skills were evident, contributing to the smooth and fair execution of the matches. The match highlights were as follows:

– On 27th September, Angileri officiated the thrilling game between Ortigia Siracusa and PAOK, with Ortigia emerging as the winners with a score of 15-13.
– The following day, on 28th September, he refereed the match between Ortigia Siracusa and Kranj, resulting in a decisive 17-6 victory for Ortigia.
– Later on 28th September, Angileri took charge of the crucial final match between Ortigia Siracusa and OS Duisburg, which determined the 1st and 2nd place winners and marked the end of a highly competitive and successful tournament.
