Team Polti Kometa and Visit Malta renew partnership for the next 3 years

Two years have passed since the Fundación Contador welcomed Visit Malta among its sponsors. Now, a renewal has been agreed upon for three more years: Team Polti Kometa finds in the Maltese tourism office an increasingly valuable ally in advancing its cycling and social project.

The relationship between the Italian ProTeam and the mediterranean island State has led to mutual growth and discovery, with Polti Kometa riders experiencing spectacular scenery and Maltese talents coming into contact with professionalism. A relationship that is more than doubling its duration.

“We are truly delighted to extend a collaboration that has allowed both parties to evolve in their respective fields, achieving significant goals,” says Carlo Micallef, CEO of the Malta Tourism Authority. “One of our missions is to strengthen synergy with Team Polti Kometa and enhance our presence in cycling, promoting the islands of Malta and Gozo to the millions of fans of this beautiful sport. That’s why we also sponsor the Giro d’Italia, starting tomorrow.”

“Sports tourism is a growing sector in our country,” continues Clayton Bartolo, Minister for Tourism and Public Cleanliness. “Being alongside an important team like Polti Kometa will help us consolidate Malta’s visibility in international cycling events such as the Giro d’Italia and beyond.”

“I’m thrilled as well about this contract extension,” adds Ivan Basso, Sport Manager of Polti Kometa. “When a two-year agreement is renewed for another three years, it means both parties are pleased to work together, driven by credibility and strategic planning, essential elements for shaping the future. I warmly thank Visit Malta, Tourism Minister Clayton Bartolo, and Valerio Agnoli who, besides being an excellent teammate during our racing days, has demonstrated equal excellence in facilitating and nurturing this alliance.”

The news regarding this partnership doesn’t end here; further details will be revealed after the Giro.
