Norbert Attard won the MDA Super Cup 2024 after beating Gordon Stanmore 5-2 in the final.
These two players, who are colleagues at Hamrun Bayern, were very consistent in their progress as they won their respective group.
Stanmore beat Kevin Aquilina 3-1, Lawrence Spiteri 3-1 in order to beat Enrico Scerri 3-0 in the semi-finals. In the group final, Stanmore beat Kevin Spiteri 4-3 in a very dramatic and uncertain game until the end.
On the other hand, Attard beat Tony Borg, Jesmond Cutajar, Charlo Spearing and Albert Scerri with the identical score of 3-0 on his way to the final of the group when he eventually beat Stephen Tagliaferro 4- 1.
In the final, Norbert Attard was more consistent than Gordon Stanmore after beating him 5-2 so he could celebrate by winning the cup which was presented by the new MDA president Tony Demanuele.
