Brian Cini, fresh from his success at the World Amateur Snooker Championship back in Malta, won the second ranking tournament of the season by defeating Chris Peplow 5-4.
In this final, it was Chris Peplow who took an early advantage, winning the first three frames, including a break of 54 points in the third frame.
Despite his poor start, Brian Cini managed to recover well, winning four consecutive frames. This included the sixth frame, where Peplow had built a 51-point lead, but Cini responded with a break of 62 points to claim the frame.
Peplow then leveled the match, forcing a deciding frame. In the ninth and final frame, Cini initially led 38-2. However, with only the colors remaining on the table, Peplow reduced the gap to just six points, 38-32. Cini then potted the first two colors and played a snooker on the brown ball, which led Peplow to concede points. From that moment on, Cini seized the opportunity and comfortably closed out the match.
The frame scores were as follows: 6-62, 30-58, 11-77, 67-52, 74-9, 67-56, 68-18, 18-68, and 62-32.
Earlier in the week, in the semi-finals, Brian Cini had defeated Joseph Casha, while Chris Peplow overcame Aaron Busuttil, with both matches ending in identical 4-2 scorelines.
