Alejandro Brincat, aged 25, passed away on Monday night when the vehicle he was driving crashed into a tree and a signpost in Attard. The young man was, a devoted father of two and a member of the Vittoriosa Stars football team.
The unfortunate event took place at approximately 9pm on Mdina Road in Attard, when the driver lost control of the car and it collided with the signpost, coming to a halt in a vertical position.
Authorities, including the Police, CPD, and a medical team from Mater Dei hospital, were present at the scene to block off the road and assist in removing the driver from the car.
The 25-year-old, who resided in Mtarfa, is the first fatality on the road in 2025. An inquiry into the incident has been launched by Magistrate Ian Farrugia.
