Nicolo Zaniolo is one of the most talented players that Italy has, but again, just like in 2020, he found himself at the epicenter of a scandal.
Then, after a friendly match in July, he was physically attacked due to selfishness by his teammates, and now he was lynched by enraged Roma fans.
On Sunday evening, a group of extreme Roma fans followed them all the way to the house in a car, and on that occasion various insults could be heard, as well as threats, even death, according to the Italian media. Apparently, it was not an organized incident, but a random encounter, since a group of hooligans accidentally ran into a football player.
“F*** you! We lost because of you. March from the club”, the fans allegedly shouted to the football player who sought salvation in his house, but they did not give up even when he entered.
Zaniolo called the police from the home, who arrived shortly after, causing the fans to disperse. However, this probably only temporarily calmed the situation, since the player under heavy attack is a supporter. So on one banner they told him “Go away, all you faceless people, cowards and profiteers… Support only those who respect our colors”, while on the other it was written “Zaniolo traitor, s**t without honor”.
The reason for the dissatisfaction lies in the fact that despite all the management’s efforts, Zaniolo refused to extend his contract with Roma, which expires next summer, wanting the club to provide him with a transfer. The young footballer wanted to go to Milan, but the deal fell through due to a loan offer of three and a half million euros without the right to purchase, while he later refused to move to Bournemouth, who met all of Roma’s demands, 30 million euros immediately, and five more through various bonuses.
