“Our situation is clear. We want him to stay, but in that case he has to sign a new contract. We cannot allow the best footballer in the world to leave for free next year. He knows that too, it was our verbal agreement, he publicly confirmed it in an interview. I was shocked to learn that he intended to leave for free, as he has always been a fantastic guy and a true gentleman up until now. Mbappe’s contract with PSG expires in 2025, and the attacker sent the club a notice that he does not plan to activate the contract extension option.
