Dutch coach Erik ten Hag of Manchester United said that he is sure that he will return the old glory to “Old Trafford”, regardless of the current situation in the club.
Let’s remember that United suffered a defeat against Brighton in the first round of the Premier League, so they disappointed again.
“If I sit here for four years, I’m pretty sure we’ll have one title. I can’t ask the fans for patience, I hope they will be patient, because they want a winning team and that’s why I’m here. However, I have to bring it. That process takes time, that’s how it is,” said Erik Ten Hag.
He looked back on the previous match in which they suffered a defeat.
“A lot of things were bad in the first match. Starting with the results, but also with the performances. We were not good at many things. This is normal for the beginning of the season. We were good in the preparations, but now we are missing two players”.
“It’s a big challenge and we knew that before. It takes time, and in football sometimes you don’t have time for such a big challenge. Ten years ago, United was the champion for the last time, and success is coming fast, but regaining success is a long-term process and requires a lot of work, a good strategy, the right people and work day by day,” adds Ten Hag.
Manchester United play Brentford today at 18:30.
