Juventus boss Thiago Motta commended his squad for their commitment and diligence in turning around average performances, propelling them back into contention for a top-four finish in Serie A. On Sunday, they clinched a 1-0 victory at home against Inter Milan, elevating them to fourth place as they vie for a spot in next season’s Champions League. This comes after a series of draws that had hampered their title chase.

“I don’t do my job to satisfy or upset anyone else; I do it for myself because I’m confident we’re on the right track,” Motta remarked to the media. “I enjoy witnessing the team’s progress, their determination, hard work, and playing quality football to secure victories. The players, more than anyone, merit the fans’ support. They dedicate themselves daily for the team and for Juventus.”
Reflecting on Juve’s triumph over the defending champions Inter, who are still in second place trailing Napoli by two points, Motta noted that the first half was challenging, with his team showing excessive deference to their opponents.

“In the second half, our energy was distinctly different. The first half was challenging; we gave them too much leeway and respect, which granted them excessive possession,” he remarked. “Inter is undoubtedly a skilled team, but failing to press them leads to difficulties. We improved significantly in this aspect during the second half.”

With four consecutive victories across various competitions, Motta noted that playing at home in the Allianz Stadium has been more challenging than away matches this season. “We seem to enjoy greater freedom when playing away. At home, we’ve encountered obstacles. Tonight’s first half was indicative of those struggles, but in the second half, we pressed aggressively, played high-quality football, and secured the victory.”
