Atalanta, the contenders for the Serie A title, have encountered a recent setback. Their winless streak of three matches across all competitions (D2, L1) was extended with a goalless draw against Udinese on Saturday. What is even more concerning is that La Dea only managed to produce two shots on target in that match, failing to score for the second consecutive game. This lack of offensive prowess raises concerns as they prepare to face Juventus, a team they have failed to score against in three of their last four head-to-head encounters.

This has contributed to Atalanta’s inability to win any of their last six meetings with the Old Lady (D4, L2). However, returning to the Gewiss Stadium could be just what Gian Piero Gasperini’s men require. In their last two home matches, they have scored a total of nine goals, and since September, only Real Madrid has managed to defeat Atalanta on their own turf (W7, D1).

Juventus, like Atalanta, suffered elimination from the Supercoppa Italiana in the semi-finals and began 2025 with a draw in the Serie A. Their 1-1 deadlock in the Derby della Mole against Torino marked their twelfth draw in the league this season, with six of those occurring in their last seven matches of this kind (W1).
Thiago Motta’s team, however, remains the only side in the league to have avoided defeat this season (W7, D12). Additionally, they have yet to be beaten in any of their twelve away matches across all competitions (W5, D7). In fact, Juventus has managed to score first in four of their previous five away league matches, which could prove instrumental in securing their 76th victory over Atalanta in head-to-head encounters – a record no other team has achieved.

Players to keep an eye on: Charles De Ketelaere from Atalanta has managed to find the back of the net eight times this season while playing at home, with seven of those goals coming in the first half. Teun Koopmeiners, a former Atalanta player, will be returning to Bergamo in hopes of adding another goal to his tally on away matches since 10 out of his last 13 Serie A goals were scored in such circumstances.
Noteworthy statistic: Atalanta has been able to score at least twice in each of their last 16 home matches in domestic competitions.
