Two teams who were frustrated by weekend draws will aim to return to winning form in midweek as Atalanta host AC Milan.
Atalanta were strong favourites to beat Cremonese on Saturday but had to fight back from 1-0 down to earn a draw. They have now drawn their last four league matches, making them Serie A’s draw specialists this season. Still unbeaten after eight games, Atalanta can be pleased with their resilience, but six draws mean they are lower in the table than they might have hoped. Winning again could prove tricky, as they have only three wins from their last 15 home league fixtures.
AC Milan lost top spot in the league after a 2-2 draw with Pisa on Friday night. Despite that setback, Milan have made the most of not playing European football this season, going eight games unbeaten in all competitions since their shock opening-day loss to Cremonese. Away from home, they are yet to lose this season, keeping three clean sheets in a row. However, Milan have failed to score in four of their last five Tuesday Serie A games.
Atalanta have had the upper hand in this fixture recently, unbeaten in the last five meetings with four wins and a draw. Yet Atalanta coach Ivan Jurić has never beaten Milan boss Massimiliano Allegri in nine attempts.
Atalanta have conceded exactly one goal in six of their eight league matches this season, and seven of their last nine Tuesday home games in Serie A have seen both teams score. Milan have let in five of their six league goals this season after half-time, and their games have averaged less than one first-half goal.

Atalanta’s Charles De Ketelaere, once a Milan player, has scored twice in four of his last five scoring appearances and netted the opener in this fixture last season. Milan’s Santiago Giménez is still waiting for his first league goal of the season, with all five of his previous Serie A strikes coming after the 70th minute.
Both sides came through their last matches without new injuries, though Milan remain without their top scorer, Christian Pulisic.
