Portuguese footballer Cristiano Ronaldo will play in the Saudi Al Nassr next season, the five-time winner of the Ballon d’Or confirmed to the Italian “Gazzetta dello Sport”.
The Portuguese player, in addition to the season without a trophy in the Saudi league, is happy in the new club he joined in January of this year from Manchester United.
“I am happy since I arrived and I will stay. The first time I went out on the field I was nervous, that’s normal. The stadium was full, my family was there too, a completely new environment for me. It’s different now, I’m relaxed, I’ve adapted and I already have a lot of good memories. I expected a warm welcome, it was one of the best days of my career”, said Cristiano Ronaldo.
This season, he played 19 games for Al Nassr, scored 14 goals and recorded two assists.
That did not help the Riyadh club to the title as Al Ittihad were crowned champions thanks to a five point advantage over them.
It was speculated that Ronaldo could return to Europe and strengthen the Newcastle team, but apparently nothing will come of it.
In the Saudi league, he could be joined by his great rival Lionel Messi, who is a target of Al Hilal, while the champion team Al Ittihad is trying in every way to get Karim Benzema
