Reece James misses the match against Ukraine

English football player Reece James will not play the next national team match against Ukraine, the national association announced today.

James returned to Chelsea in order to “assess the current problem”, according to the statement.

Last year, the defender missed the World Cup in Qatar due to a knee injury.

In the first round of qualification for the European Championship against Italy in Naples (2:1), he entered the game in the 85th minute, and it was his first appearance for the national team since September last year.

In the second round of Group C, England welcomes Ukraine to Wembley on Sunday at 18:00.

The current European runners-up are not counting on Marcus Rashford, Mason Mount, and Nick Pope at the start of the qualifiers.

The European Football Championship will be played from June 14 to July 14, 2024, in Germany.
