Sliema Wanderers netted a total of seven goals in the opening half, securing an 8-0 victory against Gozitan team Ghajnsielem at the Victor Tedesco Stadium.
On the second minute, Mohamed Awad propelled the Wanderers into the lead, swiftly followed by Simon Zibo doubling the score just two minutes later. Adam Magri Overend found the back of the net on the twelfth minute, with Zibo adding another goal ten minutes thereafter.
Geoffrey Acheampong successfully scored on the thirty-third minute, and Vito Plut extended Sliema’s lead four minutes later, making it six goals for their team. Steven Pisani confidently converted a penalty kick just two minutes before the end of the first half, and Russell Borg wasted no time in scoring the eighth goal two minutes into the second half.
Moving forward, in the Round of 16, Sliema Wanderers will be facing off against Marsa.
