During an upcoming episode of the ‘Rio Ferdinand Presents’ podcast, Cristiano Ronaldo expressed his belief that Manchester United, his former club, needs to rebuild from the ground up in order to once again compete for top titles. The 39-year-old, who won multiple Premier League titles, the Champions League, and a Club World Cup during his time at United from 2003-2009, still holds a deep love for the club. Despite finishing eighth in the league last season, Ronaldo is pleased with the club’s efforts to invest in infrastructure, led by INEOS boss Jim Ratcliffe.
According to media reports, Ronaldo stated that the club needs time to rebuild and must undergo significant changes in order to continue being one of the best clubs in the world. He believes that the future looks promising, but also emphasizes that the club cannot solely rely on talented players. The rebuilding process must start from the bottom in order for United to be able to compete. Without this, it will be impossible for them to succeed.

With United manager Erik Ten Hag already facing pressure after two defeats in the first three games of the season, Ronaldo suggests that he should seek guidance from his former United teammate Ruud van Nistelrooy, who has been hired as an assistant coach. Ronaldo believes that van Nistelrooy’s inside knowledge and understanding of the club and its fans will be beneficial. He advises the coach to listen to his advice in order to improve the club.
