While on-field performance may have its challenges, Manchester United has hit a major milestone off the pitch. Today, the English powerhouse announced the signing of a historic contract.
Over the course of the next decade, the renowned German sportswear brand, Adidas, will outfit the players of Old Trafford. This groundbreaking partnership will see United net a staggering 900,000,000 euros!
Though the club has refrained from divulging financial details, German and English media are unanimous in their confirmation of this remarkable sum.
“We are immensely proud to extend our collaboration with Manchester United. Adidas and United are two of the foremost brands in the world of football, making this continued partnership a natural progression. Our focus will blend tradition and innovation, delighting both fans and players alike. We eagerly anticipate the continuation of this alliance with one of the most illustrious clubs globally,” expressed Adidas CEO Bjorn Gulden.
The iconic club, too, expressed its deep satisfaction with the extension of this monumental cooperation.
“Adidas and the club take great pleasure in announcing the extension of one of the most captivating and significant partnerships in the realm of sports. Following a 23-year hiatus, we rekindled ties with Adidas in the 2015/16 season. In the ensuing years, together, we thrilled fans worldwide with pioneering initiatives, striking pitch designs, and beloved iconic apparel. This new deal also places a renewed focus on the Manchester United Women’s team,” stated the Red Devils in an official release.
Divided over the span of years, Manchester United will enjoy an annual boost of 90,000,000 euros. This substantial injection of funds will undoubtedly provide ample resources for at least two formidable reinforcements under Erik Ten Hag’s management.
