Valletta St Paul's keep perfect record

Valletta St Paul’s, the MAFA First Division champions, maintained their perfect record after five games by defeating San Ġiljan Saints 4-2. It was a highly competitive match where Valletta had to work hard to secure the three points against a strong performance from the Saints.

The first goal came from Dylan Grima in the 12th minute, but Jamie Bowlby Whiting equalized for the Saints just seven minutes before the end of the first half. In the second half, San Ġiljan took the lead with a stunning goal from Robert Veskimae. However, Valletta showed great determination and scored three goals in 20 minutes through Elton da Silva, Ian Zammit and Andrew Ejke Obetta to secure their position at the top of the table. The match was officiated by Lorry Sammut.

In an earlier game, Għaxaq Wolves maintained their consistency with a 2-0 win against Ta’ Giorni Wanderers, staying just two points behind Valletta St Paul’s and proving their potential. Andre Malia scored the first goal for Għaxaq Wolves in the 48th minute, followed by Diego Fernando Ovallos Galvis from a penalty just four minutes later. The referee for this match was Ray Tabone.

In the MAFA Second Division, Valletta Stars St Dominic claimed the top spot with a convincing 5-0 victory over Hamrun Amateurs. The Colombian striker Miguel Perez was the standout player for the Stars, scoring a hat trick, with Mohammed Abdukadir and Federico Tejada Marine also finding the back of the net. The match was officiated by Peter Abela.

Attard Edex Kings secured their third consecutive win with a 3-0 victory over bottom team Ħal Far Titans. Fayis Ceethintavida opened the scoring for Attard in the 25th minute, and added another goal in the 39th minute. Kiran Das Vallikkattu sealed the win for Edex Kings. The referee for this match was Jules Ngangue.

Naxxar Victorians claimed their first win of the season in the MAFA Third Division with a 3-2 victory over Mosta Vikings in a highly emotional derby. Connor Muchmore opened the scoring for Naxxar, followed by a goal from Daniel Agius. Kurt Muscat reduced the deficit for Mosta in the 39th minute, but Dejan Mihajlovic restored Naxxar’s lead. Kurt Muscat scored his second goal for Mosta just after the hour mark, but it wasn’t enough to avoid defeat. The match was officiated by Thomas Debono.
