Marsa St Michael's and Valletta St Paul's register massive wins in MAFA First Division

Marsa St Michael and Valletta St Paul’s recorded big wins in the MAFA First Division championship as match day 3 was played.

Champions Valletta St Paul’s dominated the clash against San Gwann Pro Evolution Academy so much so that they won with a score of 4-0.

The Citizens scored two goals in each half to reach Għaxaq Wolves at the top of the table.

Elton da Silva put them in front in the 19th minute so that Gary Tanti doubled the score three minutes later.

In the second half, the game plan hardly changed as Lucas dos Santos scored the third goal and Matheus Verissimo sealed the victory for his team.

Even Marsa St Michael’s had a positive outing as they beat Mqabba Albions 6-1. They returned to winning ways after the defeat against Valletta St Paul’s.

The Red/Blues were already 3-0 up as Shawn Vella scored twice with Oussama Boutayeb making it 3-0, five minutes from the end of the first half.

In the second half, Marsa St Michael scored three more goals through a double by Nikola Neskovic and another goal by Lamin Jaiteh.

Mqabba reduced the scoring margin through Calvin Agius.

In the MAFA Second Division, Valletta Stars St Dominic climbed to second place in the table after beating Zebbug Youngters 4-0. The Stars were already 4-0 up by the end of the first half so in the second 35 minutes, they controlled the situation and came out with the second victory of the season.

The hero for the Citizens was Miguel Peresj who scored a personal double while Fedelelo Marsne and Klajdi Qose sealed the final victory.

Birżebbuġa St Peter’s and Senglea Gunners ended their encounter in a balanced 1-1 scoreline. This draw slightly changed the situation in the ranking of the two teams with Birżebbuġa remaining first with a point advantage over the three teams in second place.

Nenad Stanic put the Gunners on top in the 12th minute after beating Darren Abela Tabone with a head.

Birżebbuġa equalized on 31 minutes by David Chidera Ejiofor whose shot beat Clinton Camilleri.

In the second half, the game continued to be balanced but none of the two teams managed to find the net.

In the third division, Swieqi United AFC continued to dominate the league when they achieved a great victory of 6-0 against Naxxar Victorians. They have maximum points from three games and are already seven points ahead of the second team.

Arthur Sultana put Swieqi on top in the 7th minute so that the best scorer of the league David Akindelle made it 2-0 at the quarter time. Before the end of the first half, Iilius Offorzor scored the third goal.

In the second half, Joao Aleya, Arthur Santana and Yunnis Palacios made them 6-0 for Swieqi.
