LEICESTER CITY DROP INTO CONFERENCE LEAGUE AFTER 3:2 LOSS TO NAPOLI: Coach Brendan Rodgers unaware of the competition

Leicester lost to Napoli in Italy with the result 3 : 2, and thus was left without a chance to advance to the Europa League.

Accordingly, the “Foxes” will play in the League of Conferences in the spring, the third-ranked football competition in Europe, which is being played for the first time this season.

Leicester’s coach, Brendan Rodgers, is not overly familiar with the new competition.

I think that our young players played quite naively, and I am asking the team for much more this season because we played in several formations. They have to understand it as a team and individually. The player must be followed, and the cross must be stopped. League conference? With due respect to that competition, I have no idea what it is. I was focused only on the Europa League and passing the group stage from the first position – said Rodgers after the defeat by Napoli.

Leicester are playing far below expectations this season, and currently occupy 11th place in the Premier League table with 19 points.

The next opponent of the “Foxes” will be Newcastle. The match is on the program on Sunday at 3 pm at the “King Power” stadium.
