The awarding of this year’s “Golden Ball”, the award for the best football player of the season, will be held on October 17 in Paris, France Football announced today.
The Teatro du Chatelle was chosen as the venue for the ceremony, where the award ceremony was held last year as well.
This will be the 66th edition of “Golden Ball”.
Last year’s Argentine Lionel Messi and Spanish football player Alexia Putellas were chosen as the best players last year.
Nominations are expected on August 12.
This year’s award will be presented in a new format.
The main difference is that the performance is now seen in the sports season, and not in the calendar year, with a stricter jury, pre-selection and clearer award criteria.
The individual results and excellent characteristics of the candidates will be the first criterion in front of the collective aspect and the trophies won.
