Newcastle is currently one of the richest clubs in the world, but apparently, it will not be able to drastically change the team next season!
The “Magpies” football players are on the 14th place in the Premier League table, which is significantly below the desired result.
They managed to escape the relegation zone, but now the richest club in England wants to make a team that will be competitive for the titles, which apparently will not happen in the near future.
Financial fair play is creating a problem for Newcastle, which, due to this rule, will be allowed to spend between 60 and 80,000,000 euros, plus money from sold players.
– We have restrictions when it comes to transfers due to financial fair play. That is why we cannot just enter the market and spend money on new players, as clubs used to do. It is impossible to change the team in one transition period. That is not an option for us. The more we spend in one transition period, the more our opportunities decrease in the next one – said Eddie Howe.
He further states that the focus is to bring in a few key players who will be of key importance.
– We want to bring real reinforcements. Those who will proudly wear the jersey of our club and make a difference. We are aware that we need reinforcements and that we will have to change the lineup, but it is necessary to preserve the balance – concluded the Newcastle coach.
