Newcastle United have confirmed that Kieran Trippier will be leaving the club when his contract runs out at the end of the season.
The 35-year-old right back joined Newcastle in January 2022, when the club were deep in a relegation battle, and played a key role in turning their fortunes around. During his time at the club, he made 157 appearances and helped them reach the Champions League on two occasions, as well as winning their first piece of silverware in 70 years.
Trippier also captained the side on a number of occasions and became the first Newcastle player to skipper the England national team since Michael Owen back in 2005.

“The time has come to leave this amazing club after four and a half years,” Trippier said. “This is where I’ve felt most at home. It’s emotional, and I’m really going to miss it.
“I want to say a massive thank you to the supporters for all their backing through the good times and the bad. You’ve always been there for me.”
