Paris Saint-Germain have reportedly reduced their asking price for goalkeeper Gianluigi Donnarumma amid interest from Manchester City.
The 26-year-old Italian has been linked with a move to the Etihad, with City considering reinforcements between the posts in case Ederson departs.
According to RMC Sport, PSG have dropped their valuation from around £43 million to between £26m and £30m, with Donnarumma entering the final year of his contract in Paris.
That has seen Luis Enrique jettison a key member of his Champions League-winning squad, replacing him with Lucas Chevalier.
It has also been reported that personal terms have been agreed between Donnarumma and City as a potential deal appears to be inching closer.
Donnarumma’s potential arrival would have to be countenanced by the sale of Guardiola’s long-time number one goalkeeper Ederson.
A fixture at Manchester City since 2017, Ederson lost his undisputed starting role last season, frequently rotated with Stefan Ortega.
According to Daily Mail Sport, Galatasaray are preparing to renew talks with City over the Brazilian goalkeeper after he was benched for Saturday’s defeat to Tottenham. His stand-in, James Trafford, endured a difficult home debut, misjudging a ball that led to Spurs’ second goal.
Pep Guardiola has repeatedly stressed the importance of his goalkeepers being brave in possession but has not confirmed whether Trafford will remain first choice.
“Trafford made a good first game,” Guardiola said of the 22-year-old, who kept a clean sheet in the opening-day 4-0 win over Wolves. “I decided for him to continue. When I take decisions, normally in the first part of the season—not just for the keeper, as it’s a special position—but for all the players, it’s about giving consistency. With the number of matches we play, everyone will get their chance.”
Ederson has just one year left on his contract. Galatasaray’s initial £8.5m bid was rejected, but the Turkish champions remain keen. They have since explored other targets and even submitted an offer for City defender Manuel Akanji, which could still be accepted, while also planning an improved proposal for Ederson.
