GAME OVER: Djokovic broke Steffi Graf's record!

That long-awaited day has come for Novak Djokovic, the best tennis player from Serbia has finally achieved his greatest goal, which he had set several years ago.

This morning, Djokovic began his 378th week as the number one player on the ATP list, breaking Steffi Graf’s long-held record of 377 weeks, which means that Nole now has the longest tenure at the number one spot in both competitions.

Earlier this year, Novak broke Roger Federer’s record (310) weeks in men’s singles, but he continued to push the boundaries in the “white sport”.

It is very likely that Djokovic would have broken this record even earlier, if he had not been slowed down by the coronavirus pandemic from March 23 to August 23, 2020.

Also, we should not forget all the bans that Novak had the previous year due to his vaccination status.

However, nothing could stop Novak Djokovic from breaking this record, not even the injury with which he won this year’s Australian Open.

“We should also talk about the number one position, not only about the slams. Not everyone can win a slam, but being number one in the world in such a series is something that, in my opinion, is the most demanding. In this context, I am glad to have returned to the leading position. Considering I broke the record for the longest number one, I’m still happy to be here. It’s a big goal, but not as big as it used to be. I am glad that it came as a result of winning the biggest tournaments”, Djokovic pointed out recently.
