Alphonso Davies, Bayern’s brilliant left-back, suffered a concussion during Saturday’s big Bundesliga derby as the Bavarians drew 2-2 away to Borussia Dortmund.
During the first half, he found himself in a fight for the ball with Jude Bellingham, and was then kicked in the head.
Bayern did not announce how long Davies could be out of action, only that “it is good given the circumstances.”
This news must have worried the Canadian coach, who will play at the World Cup for the first time after a 36-year hiatus.
The Planetary Championship in Qatar begins on November 20, and Canada is in a group with Croatia, Belgium, and Morocco.
