Steve Beaton rejects Luke Humphries’ criticism as Premier League rivalry heats up

Darts legend Steve Beaton has dismissed the opinions of world No.1 Luke Humphries concerning the current Premier League campaign. With just one Thursday night match remaining before the finals at the O2 on May 29, Humphries has already secured second place, trailing the dominant leader Luke Littler.

The two rivals are expected to face each other in the final for the second consecutive year, following Littler’s victory over Humphries in 2024. Their intense rivalry continues to draw attention, as demonstrated in their recent high-quality match where Littler averaged 115.96 in a 6-3 win, while Humphries recorded an impressive 110.01 average.

Humphries had recently defended the league format in response to fan complaints about the frequency of repeat matchups, emphasizing the appeal of seeing the best players compete regularly against each other rather than waiting extended periods for such encounters.
