Bayern Munich are on the verge of winning back the Bundesliga title, even after a last-gasp equaliser saw them draw 3-3 with RB Leipzig. The result puts Vincent Kompany’s side nine points ahead of Bayer Leverkusen, with a much better goal difference (+30), and just three games left for their rivals.
Despite missing the suspended Harry Kane, Bayern were expected to wrap up the title today. But it was Leipzig who started better, keeping Bayern pinned back early on. Jonas Urbig made a top save to deny Amadou Haidara, and Benjamin Šeško missed a good chance from a clever pass by Xavi Simons.
Leipzig then struck first on the counter. Xavi robbed Michael Olise and played a brilliant outside-of-the-boot pass to Šeško, who finished beautifully from range with a curling shot. Leipzig doubled their lead just before half-time when Lukas Klostermann headed in David Raum’s deep free-kick — or rather glanced it in off his ear.
Bayern looked flat until the hour mark, but then came to life. Eric Dier headed in from a corner to make it 2-1, and just 46 seconds later, Olise volleyed in to level the score after Leipzig carelessly gave away possession from kick-off. Both sides had chances after that, but Bayern thought they had won it when Leroy Sané curled in a lovely strike after a flick-on from Joshua Kimmich.

However, deep into stoppage time, Xavi found Yussuf Poulsen, who lifted the ball over Urbig to snatch a point for Leipzig — and delay Bayern’s celebrations.
Harry Kane will have to wait a bit longer for his first major trophy, but Bayern are still firmly in control. One more win, or any slip-up from Leverkusen on Sunday, will officially confirm Bayern as champions for the 12th time in 13 seasons.
