Champion boxer Paul Bamba, known for his incredible achievements in the ring, has tragically passed away at the age of 35. His death was announced just days after he clinched the WBA Gold Cruiserweight title by defeating Rogelio Medina.
Pop star Ne-Yo, who had signed Bamba to his management company, shared the news in a joint statement with the boxer’s family. The statement described Bamba as a “beloved son, brother, friend, and boxing champion,” praising his “unrelenting ambition to achieve greatness” and his ability to inspire others with his exceptional determination.
“We are heartbroken by his passing and kindly ask for privacy and understanding during this difficult time as we collectively navigate our grief,” the statement added.
A Stellar Career
Bamba had an extraordinary 2024, winning all 14 of his fights by knockout—a feat that broke a long-standing record set by Mike Tyson. Over his career, he secured 19 wins in 22 bouts, with 18 of those victories coming by knockout.
He was also known for his outspoken personality outside the ring, having previously called out Jake Paul for a potential fight and nearly facing Tommy Fury in 2022 before the match was canceled due to a weight dispute.
