On Tuesday night, LeBron James and his son Bronny James made history as they became the first father-son duo to play in an NBA game together. The Los Angeles Lakers secured a 110-103 victory against the Minnesota Timberwolves, where the 39-year-old superstar and his 20-year-old son shared the court for approximately 2 and a half minutes in the first half of Bronny’s debut.

This was a remarkable moment, not only because it was the first time a father and son played in the NBA simultaneously, but also because they were on the same team. LeBron contributed 16 points to the Lakers’ win, while Anthony Davis put on a dominant performance with 36 points and 16 rebounds. Rui Hachimura also added 18 points to the Lakers’ score. JJ Redick, a 15-year NBA veteran, made his debut as head coach for the Lakers, who hired him for his first coaching job at any level.
The Timberwolves, who had their best season in 20 years, were led by Anthony Edwards with 27 points. Julius Randle and Donte DiVincenzo, who recently joined the team after the trade that saw Karl-Anthony Towns move to New York three weeks ago, had 16 points and 10 points respectively. Dalton Knecht, the Lakers’ first-round pick, also made his debut with five points.
