The Campionato Coppa Italia Zona 8, also known as the Sicilian Karting Championship, saw the participation of seven talented Maltese drivers: Trevor Muscat, Timothy Zarb, Gigi Muscat, Kimi Bugeja, Morgan Zammit Azzopardi, Eli Xuereb and Zane Pace.
The championship took place at the Pista Del Sole in Melilli, Sicily on Sunday 20th of October. Three of the drivers, namely Eli Xuereb, Kimi Bugeja and Zane Pace, competed in all eight races of the 2024 championship, which included seven races of the Sicilian Championship and one race in Triscina for the Italian National Championship.
Zane Pace, emerged victorious in the GR3 Over 2024 Campionato Coppa Italia Zona 8 Championship, while Kimi Bugeja secured the second position in the GR3 under category. These achievements are especially noteworthy as the Maltese drivers had to compete against experienced Sicilian drivers who were more familiar with the tracks used in the championship. Nevertheless, the Maltese drivers showed great skill and determination in overcoming this tough competition.
