SINNER AFTER THE TITLE: This is definitely a match that belongs in the top three or top five matches in my career

By all accounts, Jannik Sinner has found a great formula to defeat Daniil Medvedev.

After seven defeats against the Russians, the young Italian won two consecutive victories this fall and, most importantly, in the final.

After a great fight in Vienna, Jannik won 7:6 (7), 4:6, 6:3 and thus reached the fourth cup of this season.

“It took a lot out of my physical and mental strength. I think we both served well in the opening set. I somehow managed to get back when he had a break. I think he served well. In the second set, he entered more exchanges, then I tried to make a breakthrough in the third set. Finishing the match was mentally difficult, but I’m happy with how I held on today”, said Jannik after the match and added:

“This is definitely a match that belongs to the top three or top five matches in my career. Playing in the final is always a special thing, especially against Daniil. I lost to him many times. I beat him last time and that gave me confidence. Today was a little different, because I played more serves and volleys. He was waiting and I had to adapt. I am satisfied with how I solved the problems on the field”, concluded the champion of the tournament in Vienna.
