Badminton Malta is set to host the International Tournament at the Cottonera Sports Complex between April 4th and 7th. The tournament will feature 210 players from 35 countries, and the Maltese team, led by the national champion Matthew Haynes, has been selected based on their world ranking. The team comprises of Sam Cassar, Matthew Abela, Mark Abela, Nigel Degaetano, Samuel Cali, Francesca Clark, Elenia Haber, Martina Clark, Anne Marie Bezzina, and Lauren Azzopardi.
The tournament consists of five categories, including singles and doubles for both men and women, as well as mixed doubles. The previous edition of the International Tournament was organized in 2022 after a lapse between 1993 and 2021.
The tournament promises to be a thrilling event for badminton enthusiasts, with 210 players from 35 different countries showcasing their skills and sportsmanship.
