Emmanuel Bugeja has successfully defended his title at the Tazza Indipendenza trap competition, winning the event for the second consecutive year.
The competition took place at the Malta National Shooting Ranges, where participants first shot at fifty qualifying targets before proceeding to a final round of twenty-five targets from a single shot.
Brian Galea secured second place overall, while William Chetcuti finished in third. The six finalists demonstrated impressive skill, with Chetcuti hitting forty-six out of fifty targets, Bugeja Ryan and Galea scoring forty-five each, Ciappara Anglu and Camilleri Philip managing forty-four, and Bugeja Emmanuel scoring forty-three plus one in a shoot-off.
In the final round, Bugeja Emmanuel achieved a score of twenty-three out of twenty-five, winning a shoot-off with four hits, while Galea scored twenty-three with three in the shoot-off. Chetcuti recorded twenty out of twenty-five, followed by Bugeja Ryan with nineteen, Ciappara with seventeen, and Camilleri with sixteen.

The next trap competition, the MSSF Trap Competition 50+50+25, will take place on Sunday October 5 at the Malta National Shooting Ranges.
