Maltese snooker player Brian Cini has secured his place in the quarter-finals of the Amateur Snooker World Championship, currently being held in Saïdia, Morocco. In a span of just 10 hours, Cini played two matches and emerged victorious in both, moving into the final eight players of the tournament.
Round of 32: Cini Defeats Aidan Murphy (4-1)
In his morning match, Cini faced 20-year-old English player Aidan Murphy in the last 32 stage. The Maltese cueist started strong, winning the first frame, but Murphy responded with an impressive 91-point break and clearance to level the match at 1-1.
From the third frame onward, Cini regained complete control, winning three consecutive frames to seal a 4-1 victory. The frame scores were:

Round of 16: Cini Triumphs Over Daniel Womersley (4-2)
Later in the evening, Cini faced another English opponent, 33-year-old Daniel Womersley, in the last 16 round.
The Maltese player had a brilliant start, winning the first two frames, including a superb 100-point break in the opening frame. However, Womersley fought back, claiming the third and fourth frames to level the match at 2-2.
In the fifth frame, Womersley took an early 42-point lead, but Cini responded with a mini-break of 13 followed by a 62-point clearance to regain the advantage. The Maltese star then dominated the sixth frame to secure a 4-2 victory.

Quarter-Finals & Semi-Finals on Friday
With the tournament nearing its conclusion, the quarter-finals will take place on Friday morning, followed by the semi-finals in the afternoon.
In the quarter-finals, Cini will face German player Umit Dikme, who previously eliminated Aaron Busuttil in the last 64 round. This stage will be played in a best-of-seven frames format, with Cini’s match scheduled to start at 10:00 AM.
