Isaac Borg made a confident start to his National Individual Snooker Championships campaign with a 4-1 victory over Frans Mintoff in their Group Stage clash on Wednesday at the Malta Snooker Academy.
Borg showcased solid form throughout the match, securing the win with consistent scoring and tactical precision. Highlighting his performance was a break of 61 – the highest of the encounter – underlining his sharpness early in the tournament.
Despite some resistance from Mintoff, who managed to take a frame, it was Borg who maintained control for most of the contest, securing three consecutive frames to seal the match.
With this result, Borg takes an important step forward in the CE Installations Premier Group Stage, as he eyes qualification to the knockout rounds of this season’s National Championships.
