Paris Saint Germain took another massive step toward securing their fourth consecutive Ligue 1 title with a dominant 6-1 victory over struggling Saint-Etienne on Saturday. A brace from Desire Doue and goals from Khvicha Kvaratskhelia, Goncalo Ramos, Joao Neves, and Ibrahim Mbaye sealed the emphatic win, putting PSG just one point away from officially clinching the championship.
Despite their dominance, PSG were given an early scare when Lucas Stassin headed Saint-Etienne into a shock lead. However, the visitors responded before halftime, as Goncalo Ramos converted a penalty after being fouled by Florian Tardieu.

The second half was all PSG, with Kvaratskhelia firing them ahead five minutes after the restart. Doue then added a quick third, finishing off a brilliant assist from Bradley Barcola. The floodgates opened further as Joao Neves netted in the 62nd minute before Doue grabbed his second goal of the match just four minutes later.
Saint-Etienne had a brief glimmer of hope when Nuno Mendes collided with Lucas Stassin in the box, but their penalty appeal was overturned after a VAR review. Substitute Ibrahim Mbaye put the finishing touch on PSG’s dominant display with a late goal to make it six.

Doue, the standout performer, reflected on the win:
“The first half wasn’t good for us. We conceded early, but the most important thing is that we pulled ourselves together and got the win. I’m very happy with what’s happening. It’s the beginning of great things, at least I hope so. I’m going to keep working hard for the team.”
With 71 points and a 21-point lead over second-placed Monaco, PSG can officially secure the title next week with just a draw against Angers. Meanwhile, Saint-Etienne remain in deep relegation trouble, desperately needing a turnaround in their final seven matches to avoid the drop.
