Speaking during an interview with German broadcaster RTL, Gorner revealed that Schumacher’s condition remains extremely delicate and is managed under strict privacy. He disclosed that only around 20 people — consisting of immediate family, close friends, and a team of medical professionals — are permitted to have direct contact with the former racing star, who resides with his family in Switzerland.
“Michael is completely dependent on continuous assistance,” Gorner said. “He has stopped communicating through speech and can no longer express himself verbally. It is a very painful reality for those close to him.”
Since the accident in December 2013, Schumacher’s family, led by his wife Corinna, has maintained a policy of maximum discretion, choosing not to share specific details about his condition. “For years, only a very limited circle of less than 20 people has had direct access to Michael,” Gorner explained. “I believe it is the right decision.
