Fallows departs from Aston Martin’s technical position prior to Newey’s commencement.
Dan Fallows will step down from his position as Aston Martin’s technical director this month, although he will remain with the organisation, as confirmed by the Silverstone-based Formula One team on Tuesday. Fallows, who joined in 2022 from Red Bull where he led aerodynamics, will see his former superior, Adrian Newey, aged 65, come on board next March as the managing technical partner.

Andy Cowell, previously head of Mercedes engines, has recently been appointed as chief executive officer, while Enrico Cardile, a former Ferrari technical director, has also been hired and is set to start next year. In a statement from the team, Fallows remarked, “It is time for me to pass on the baton, but I look forward to watching the team’s future success, which I am sure will come soon,” though he did not disclose his future plans. Aston Martin enjoyed a strong 2023 season by achieving five podium finishes in the first six races with Fernando Alonso. However, they have struggled this year and currently sit fifth in the standings, with their best finish being fifth place.

Canadian owner Lawrence Stroll, whose son Lance competes for the team, has invested significantly in his goal to transform Aston Martin into championship challengers.
