Reports suggest that the legendary driver’s Formula E team, Avalance Andretti, just wrapped up the latest world championship in London, showcasing his prowess in the all-electric series.
In an exclusive interview with Speed Week, Andretti confidently shared insights on the progress of the F1 project, revealing, “Everything is on schedule with the construction of the new headquarters in Fishers, Indiana. We hope to move there from our old base by the end of 2024.” And here’s the exciting part – the first US-built Formula 1 car will roll out from Indiana!
With enthusiasm shining through, Andretti expressed hope for FIA’s timely approval, stating, “Yes, I’m optimistic about that. I hope the FIA will clarify this in the next few weeks. In any case, we are preparing at full speed. We currently have 25 employees, and the number is constantly growing.”
Key to the potential green-light is the support from General Motors and Cadillac, who are actively contributing to F1’s American dream. While a re-branded customer Renault engine deal may be on the cards initially, Cadillac is fervently investing in the endeavor.
Andretti’s F1 driver lineup is equally captivating, with his Indycar driver, Colton Herta, being a crucial part of the project.
