Żurrieq sack Brian Spiteri after slow start as replacements considered

Malta Sport has learnt that Żurrieq Football Club have dismissed head coach Brian Spiteri after a disappointing opening to the Challenge League season. The team sit 13th with three points from one win, scoring five goals and conceding eight.

The committee has begun the search for a successor. Among the options under consideration are Clive Mizzi, who resigned from his role at Gżira United last Sunday, and Winston Muscat, credited with lifting Ħamrun Spartans’ form last season. No decision has been taken, and negotiations with prospective candidates still need to be concluded.

Żurrieq will hope a swift appointment brings stability and a change in results as they look to climb the table.
