Galatasaray have secured the services of Alvaro Morata, the AC Milan striker, on a loan agreement that will run from February 2025 to January 2026 for a fee of 6 million euros ($6.14 million), as announced by both the Turkish Super Lig club and AC Milan on Sunday.
AC Milan confirmed that Galatasaray have the option to make the transfer permanent, according to a statement released on the official AC Milan website.
For the second half of the 2024-25 season, Morata will earn a guaranteed salary of 3 million euros, with an additional 3 million euros to be paid for the first half of the 2025-26 campaign, as confirmed by Galatasaray.
Morata, who is currently the captain of Spain’s national team and 32 years old, joined AC Milan last year from Atletico Madrid in LaLiga for a transfer fee of 13 million euros, signing a four-year contract.
Galatasaray’s statement also revealed that they hold the option to permanently sign Morata for 8 million euros if they notify AC Milan in writing by January 15, 2026.
In the event that the Turkish club decides not to activate the purchase option by that date, they will have the right to extend the loan period until June 30, 2026. If the loan is extended, Morata will receive an additional 3 million euros for the second half of the 2025-26 season.

Furthermore, the club will possess a secondary option for acquisition, enabling them to secure Morata on a permanent basis for 9 million euros if they submit written notice by 10th June 2026. This sum will be disbursed in six equal instalments.
Should Galatasaray choose to exercise the purchase option, Morata will be guaranteed earnings of 6 million euros for the 2026-27 season and an additional 6 million euros for the 2027-28 season.

Morata initiated his professional journey with Real Madrid before transferring to Juventus in 2014. He played a pivotal role in Real’s triumphs in the Champions League, LaLiga, and Copa del Rey, securing two victories in each competition. Additionally, he contributed to Juventus’ attainment of two Serie A titles. Morata also had a stint with Chelsea in the Premier League.
