Samuel Eto’o, the head of the Cameroon Football Federation (Fecafoot), has been prohibited from attending the national team’s fixtures for six months due to a breach of FIFA’s disciplinary rules, according to an announcement by football’s regulatory body on Monday.
The ex-Barcelona forward, who assumed the presidency of Fecafoot in 2021, is now restricted from participating in all men’s and women’s matches across different age brackets.
“The penalty relates to the FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup round-of-16 game between Brazil and Cameroon, held in Bogota, Colombia, on 11 September 2024,” stated FIFA in an official release.

FIFA’s disciplinary committee did not reveal specifics about the incidents. The declaration mentioned that Eto’o was found guilty of “offensive conduct and breaches of fair play principles,” in addition to “misconduct” involving match officials.
This suspension comes after the Confederation of African Football (CAF) fined the 43-year-old less than three months ago following an investigation into alleged violations of its ethical and integrity codes.
