Every chapter has its ending, and for Shaun Bajada, this one closes with pride, gratitude, and a heart full of memories. After three unforgettable years with the Maroons, Bajada has stepped down as head coach, but not before leaving behind a legacy built on unity, passion, and historic achievements.
In an emotional message to players, staff, supporters, and club president Noel, Bajada reflected on a journey that went far beyond football.
“After these incredible three years, where we became more like a family than just a football team, I want to express my deepest thanks,” he said. “To the players, you were brilliant, not just on the pitch, but as people. Your character and respect made coaching a real privilege.”
He also paid tribute to the dedicated staff behind the scenes. “You made my job easier and more enjoyable. Working alongside such committed professionals was an honour.”
To the supporters, Bajada’s message was clear: “You were the heartbeat of the team from day one. Your belief and passion helped turn dreams into reality.”
And to Club President Noel: “Thank you for trusting me, especially during difficult moments. Everyone knows how to win—but few know how to handle setbacks. Your support never wavered, and that meant everything.”
Under Bajada’s leadership, the Maroons won every major trophy and laid the foundations for a young, ambitious squad with a bright future ahead. During his time in charge, the team lifted:
- the BOV First Division Knock-Out,
- the BOV GFA Cup,
- the GFA Super Cup, and
- the BOV GFL First Division title.
While this chapter ends, a new one begins: Shaun Bajada has been announced as head coach of Challenge League side Mġarr United. The appointment comes after a remarkable season with Qala Saints, where he guided them to their first-ever 1st Division title, an historic achievement for the Gozitan club.
As Bajada moves on to his next challenge, his bond with the Maroons remains strong.
