Inter Milan bounced back to winning ways with a solid 3-0 victory against Fiorentina at the San Siro, moving back into Serie A’s top four. It was their third straight home win against the Viola, who are still waiting for their first league victory this season.
The first half was slow and cautious, with Inter controlling possession but struggling to create clear chances. David de Gea made two good saves for Fiorentina, keeping out efforts from Alessandro Bastoni and Federico Dimarco. At the other end, Moise Kean’s weak shot was easily dealt with by Yann Sommer.
Inter pushed harder after the break, but De Gea continued to frustrate them with several fine saves. However, he could do nothing about Hakan Çalhanoğlu’s stunning strike from distance just after the hour mark, which gave Inter the lead.
Petar Sučić then doubled the advantage with a clever solo goal, weaving past defenders before finishing neatly inside the near post.
Fiorentina’s night went from bad to worse when Mattia Viti fouled Ange-Yoan Bonny in the box late on, earning a second yellow card and conceding a penalty. Çalhanoğlu calmly scored from the spot to make it 3-0.
The result lifts Inter closer to leaders Napoli and Roma, while Fiorentina’s poor start continues, marking their worst ever opening to a Serie A season.
