Hyrox Challenge with a meaningful cause

The energetic atmosphere of the Campus Hub in Imsida was on full display this weekend as the Jungle Box Warehouse hosted the latest edition of the Hyrox Challenge.

With a diverse group of 857 athletes, the event featured intense endurance heats, including Men’s and Women’s Doubles, Singles, and Relay races. As competitors pushed themselves to their limits, the Challenge also served a greater purpose by promoting physical fitness for a meaningful cause. One of the most thrilling moments of the day occurred in the Men’s Doubles category, where the top two teams were separated by only five seconds. The Titans, consisting of Ryan Farrugia and Luke Pace, claimed first place with a time of 56:13, narrowly defeating The Clubduo, represented by Adrian Zahra and Marlon Briffa, who finished in 56:18. Performix, led by Jimmy Dhillon and Cleven Damato, secured third place with a solid finish of 58:19. The intense finale had spectators on the edge of their seats and showcased the competitive nature of the event.

Dzintra Grech and Katrina Cuschieri also made a significant impact on the competition, achieving victories across multiple heats. Competing as Last Minute Decision in the Women’s Doubles, they finished in first place with a time of 57:51. Grech’s versatility was on full display once again in the Mixed Doubles event, where she joined forces with Chris Grech of Hunting Mcintyre to earn another first-place finish at 1:00:16. Meanwhile, Katrina Cuschieri showcased her individual strength by placing second in the Women’s Singles category with a time of 1:09:08. Their impressive performances were a highlight of the day, representing both athletic excellence and the competitive spirit of the Hyrox Challenge.

The event saw impressive performances in all categories. Hunting Mcintyre emerged as the victors in the Mixed Doubles, while Mark & Michelle and Pineapple Ice Lollie finished in second and third place, respectively. Rosalie Borg Cauchiled led the way in the Women’s Singles category with an impressive time of 1:07:04, while Keith Falzon claimed the Men’s Singles title with a time of 1:01:41, setting a high standard for future competitors.

Teamwork was also on display in the Relay events, with 4EVER WARRIORS taking first place in the Male Relay, ISSA NARAW claiming the top spot in the Female Relay, and THE JUNGLE TROUBLE MAKERS emerging as the victors in the Mixed Relay.

Beyond the fierce competition, the Hyrox Challenge also made a positive impact on the community, raising €38,000 for a hospice charity. These funds will greatly support hospice care services, providing comfort and assistance to those in need. The Hyrox Challenge at the Campus Hub is scheduled to return in April, offering another opportunity to celebrate physical fitness, push boundaries, and support a worthy cause.
