Aitana Bonmati and Ousmane Dembele were crowned the leading figures in world football as The Best FIFA Football Awards 2025 were presented during a gala ceremony held in Doha, Qatar, on Tuesday evening.
Barcelona and Spain midfielder Aitana Bonmati made history by winning The Best FIFA Women’s Player award for a third consecutive year, becoming the first player in the women’s game to achieve this remarkable feat. Bonmati enjoyed another outstanding season for both club and country, further cementing her status as one of the most influential players of her generation.

“I’m very grateful and proud to win my third FIFA The Best award,” Bonmati said in a video message. “I’m thankful to all the players, coaches and fans who voted for me. Knowing that people who play or coach football at the highest level recognise my work means everything.”
In the men’s category, Paris Saint-Germain and France forward Ousmane Dembele was named The Best FIFA Men’s Player 2025. The 28 year old enjoyed a memorable season with PSG, playing a central role in a historic campaign that saw the Parisian club lift the Coupe de France, secure their 13th Ligue 1 title and, most notably, win their first-ever UEFA Champions League. PSG also finished as runners-up at the FIFA Club World Cup 2025.
Receiving the award from FIFA President Gianni Infantino at the FIFA Celebration 2025 Dinner, Dembele paid tribute to those around him. “First of all, I want to thank all my team mates. Hard work really does pay off,” he said. “It has been a fantastic year for me, both individually and as a team. I also thank my family, the club, the president, the staff and Luis Campos. I hope to be back here again next year.”
Coaching and goalkeeping awards
England manager Sarina Wiegman was named The Best FIFA Women’s Coach for 2025 after guiding the Lionesses to a second successive UEFA Women’s EURO title. Wiegman described the award as a great honour and emphasised the collective effort behind England’s success.
“This says everything about the team,” she said. “Without the team, you are nowhere. That is the beauty of team sports. When everyone is pulling in the same direction, you can achieve something special.”
Paris Saint-Germain head coach Luis Enrique was awarded The Best FIFA Men’s Coach, in recognition of his role in orchestrating PSG’s trophy-laden season.
