The European Cricket Network (ECN) delivered another exhilarating chapter of cricketing action in Malta, as fans witnessed tightly contested matches and dominant performances across multiple formats.
In the women’s European Cricket International (ECI) series, Croatia clinched a nail-biting 3-2 victory over Malta in a fiercely competitive five-match contest. Both sides showcased immense skill and determination, with the series going down to the wire before the Croatian women emerged victorious.

Meanwhile, in the men’s ECI series, Malta produced a commanding display to sweep Estonia 5-0. The Maltese side showcased their depth and quality, remaining unbeaten across all five matches and underlining their growing strength on the European stage.
These ECI fixtures came on the back of the ECS Malta, Spring Series, which returned to the picturesque Marsa Sports Club. Following the successful ECS event earlier this year — where Swieqi United lifted the trophy — ten competitive teams were divided into two groups of five, battling for a place in Finals Day. Swieqi United were back to defend their crown in what has become a highlight on the ECN calendar.
The cricketing excitement doesn’t stop there. Immediately following the ECIs, attention shifted to T20 International action. On Monday, May 5, the Malta and Croatia women’s teams faced off in a two-match ECN T20IW series. This was followed by the men’s ECN T20I Malta-Estonia series, a three-match contest kicking off Tuesday, where the Maltese men’s side looked to continue their dominant form against Estonia.
With national pride at stake, top players from both clubs and countries on display, and the stunning Marsa Sports Club providing the perfect setting, Malta continues to affirm itself as a vibrant hub for European cricket. As the tour progresses, fans can look forward to more unforgettable moments and top-tier competition.
